K9 NOSE WORK® SCENT DETECTION WORKSHOP with Lauralea Oliver CNWI

Learn the foundation skills of K9 Nose Work with expert trainer Lauralea Oliver.
This hands-on workshop will focus on building foundation skills to put beginner and intermediate nose work dogs on a path to success. Workshop exercises will continue to build the dogs’ excitement for hunting, while introducing them to new elements and challenges, such as vehicle searches and new outdoor areas. Teams that have begun target odor training will receive coaching on best practices for rewarding and supporting their dogs.
In addition, careful observation of the dogs (with narration by Lauralea) will teach you how scent travels outdoors and around vehicles, under varying conditions.

Pre-Requisite for Working Spots: Dogs are not required to have started training on a target odor (birch/anise/clove) however dog/handler teams must have attended introductory nose work classes. Dog should be comfortable being crated out of sight from his/her dog owner.

Cancellation/Refund policy: The general terms of the cancellation policy are stated below. If you have any questions about this policy please contact us BEFORE you register for the workshop. If you choose to cancel your registration for this workshop, please notify us in writing (e-mail, letter.) If your cancellation notification is received no later than 14 days before the workshop, you will receive a refund of 50% of the paid registration fee less a $25 processing charge. If your cancellation notification is received no later than 7 days before the workshop, you will receive a refund of 25% of the paid registration fee less a $25 processing charge. NO refunds of paid registration fees will be issued if your cancellation notice is received less than 7 days before the workshop. This policy is without exception.
ABOUT LAURALEA OLIVER
Lauralea is a Certified Dog Trainer, Certified Nose Work Instructor® and Trial Judge for the National Association of Canine Scent Work. She owns two personal dogs that have earned their NW3 Titles, Mayhem and Fern. In addition, Lauralea is the Lead Ecological Detection Dog Trainer and Handler at H.T. Harvey & Associates. Lauralea has over twenty years of experience working with dogs in many environments and disciplines including shelters, working dogs, pet dogs and sporting dogs.
